Conditions report over the last 4 days in the Duffey in the Cerise Ck. Area. 04/12 skied Vantage N face, Vantage sub peak N chutes, Sunset couloir 04/14 attempted Matier NE, plan B skied Slalok N.
Weather
Up to 20cm HN 04/11-04/14. Redistributed by wind into lee aspects.
Snowpack
HS taken at Keith’s Hut. Shaded aspects above 1700m holding good dry snow. Active loading observed on isolated NE-NW aspects. (04/14: Matier was l loaded and slabby, Slalok N face above the choke was good unaffected snow - SH and PPgp on surface, the choke was wind pressed). SH on shelter aspects observed 04/14 in the am (before 0900) up to 2700m.
Avalanche
Majority of the left side couloir ripped above me while skiing. Got away with it pulling off to the side. Ran onto Annversary glacier and down ~50m. In addition, very reactive, fast running LD to Sz 1.5, skier triggered on N aspects
