Weather

Weather: Overcast with light to moderate snow all day, brief periods of heavy. Temps rose to 18°F at 10,000 ft and 11°F at 12,000 ft. Ridgetop winds averaged 15 mph from the W to WNW, gusting 25 -35 mph.

Snowpack

Snowpack: 6" fell overnight and 7" fell during the day. Storm board at 10" (.8" SWE). Below treeline, ~6-10” of incohesive, low density snow on stout melt-freeze crusts. Near and above treeline, the new snow is deeper (up to a foot) and denser from wind affect, sitting on meltfreeze crusts. Avalanches: Most steeper slopes that went onto had small sluffing on old crusts, and some cracking/minor slabs where the snow was more wind affected. All harmless in size.
