The Paradise Divide area near Crested Butte has seen around 15" of snow this past weekend with strong and swirling winds. Many areas above treeline are stripped of the new snow, even on leeward slopes. Near treeline has seen the most significant areas of windslab formation. A few new avalanches were reported from Sunday from 30 degree terrain near and below treeline with some remote triggers and lots of cracking and whumphing. Reported avalanches were small (due to the lower angle terrain) breaking on old snow layers and running short distances
