N of Montgomery Pass near Cameron Pass in Northern Colorado. The air temperature was 10degC with a 5-10mph westerly wind, bluebird day. the elevation was 10,600ft.
Snowpack
Bearing 110deg E-SE. Slope was 25-30deg. Extended Column (90x30cm) with a total depth of column at 122cm. The total snowpack extended down another 125cm via probe. Two weak facet layers were present: (1) At a depth of 15-20cm that sheared/collapsed at tap 10-15 with no propagation (2) At a depth of 65cm from surface that sheared the entire column at tap 22. Surface facets present in weak layers (See photo). Snowpack relatively cohesive (1F) throughout the snowpack. Relatively little new snow (<1in) on the surface. Underneath was thin wind slab.
