We had a significant ( for us in the windy 10 mile) surface hoar event last night. 2- 3 mm surface hoar feathers formed on all aspects up to at least 12,200 feet and have hung around all day. I doubt that they will last long on southerly aspects and above treeline once the wind starts to blow, but they may be an issue on the north at and below treeline for a while.
