Snowpack
The below treeline snowpack is shallow and weak. The upper snowpack consists of surface hoar and decomposing fragments. There is a 4F hard layer approximately 20 cm above the ground resting on small grained, but well developed depth hoar (2 mm with chains). Although the snowpack is mostly F hard and weak, there is no slab.
