Clear skies. Temperatures reached low 20's at 10000 ft and high teens at 12000 ft. Winds were light from the NE.
Snowpack
7" of of 5% density storm snow settled to 5" by the afternoon. On W through SE aspects, at, above, and below treeline, the new snow showed no signs of slab development, sluffing, cracking, or instability. A small R1D1 observed on an east aspect of Mt. Owen that pulled out below a cliff band ATL. Natural snow sluffing was also minimal in the surrounding terrain, with only minor sluffs on steep east slopes between Mt. Ruby and Mt. Owen ATL. On south aspects, a melt-freeze crust developed today on moderate to steep slopes.
