Powderhorn Mtn resort 8 degrees N elevation 9450 snow pack depth 168 cm surface to app 10 cm down new snow layer which failed at 4 taps from wrist on ECT did not propagate seem to merely compress with a slight fracture line remainder of hits from wrist, elbow and shoulder produced no results a fist layer was noticed around 148 which might be the wet snow we saw at the beginning of the week I thought would have been harder a shovel shear from back of column broke at 95 cm but did not take out entire column only area in front of shovel no discernable ice layer was found this aspect sees allot transport which explains the depth and probably being so consolidated
