Snowpack

New snow fall aprox. 40". Observations throughout the season have shown the snowpack to be stable. Continuous snowfall since late October.

Avalanche

R3D2 Avalanche was triggered remotely, as we were moving on the ridge above to dig a pit. Time was 07:50. Highest point of crown was aprox. 5 ft. Slide initiated on east facing concave slope and ran aprox. 500 ft. long. presumably the slide ran on near surface facets/sun crust. Other natural avalanches observed on east facing aspects throughout the day.
