Observations from an AST 1 course today- 40 cm of storm snow from yesterday. With a quick look into the snowpack we had moderate shear tests with drops in old sugary facets down 60cm. Widespread whumpfing on this layer through treeline 1600m. We saw numerous size 2 slabs in steep lee alpine east aspect in the Miller Ck. Drainage from yesterday's storm. Alpine has significant wind effect
