We found about 25 cm of fresh storm snow at the Microwave. The riding was best on south and west faces where the snowpack was about a meter deep. On north and east slopes at treeline it was half of that and the hazard of hitting buried rocks and trees was very real. We found a couple of weak layers under the new snow - see photo caption. Visibility was poor so we didn't get a chance to see into any avalanche terrain.
