Upper Burnt

Today in the upper burnt riding area we had a chilly start to the day -20 at the truck but by the time we made it to the bowls it was -9. The valley bottom had little to no wind but you could hear it ripping across the alpine slopes above. Took a little rip up to the top to take a look around lots of wind scoured slopes so we decided to stay down below and ride the nice fluffy snow. We dug our pit below tree line at 1300m on a east facing slope with a 28 degree incline. Our compression tests gave us a few results first being the new snow interface sitting on old facets this layer reacted in the moderate range (CTM11-13 Sudden Collapse) down 20cm. Our next layer of concern was down 40cm on a facet crust layer this also reacted in the moderate range at (CTM 14-16 SC). Deeper down we had another facet crust layer react in the hard range at (CTH21 Resistant Planar) down 65cm.
