Thick fog to make visibility difficult at times if you were not skiing the trees to use as landmarks. Trees were forming rime on the easterly sides due to the humidity. Graupel fell lightly (S1-1/S1) at first starting at 10am and increased throughout the day until around 2:00 then changed to heavy wet snow (S2). Temp was -6C at 12:00. Light winds from the East. NTL
Snowpack
In the trees protected from the winds HS 120-185 ( although I was looking for low snowpack for digging below 200cm) Pit was 141 cm. HST from early this morning was about 2cm but total storm snow from the past couple days 3/11 was 8cm which was not bonding well to the melt-freeze crust pencil hard 17cm down sitting atop another melt-freeze crust knife hard 1-2cm thick from last weeks warming event. I noticed cracking touring off the beaten path of this new snow layer atop these crusts. CT13 SC @ 124cm under the melt-freeze crust/ CT26 SC @ 30cm on depth hoar/ ECTX The ski down got a smidge better as new snow began to accumulate on top the awful sun crust.
