Weather

Clear skies with strong solar. Light winds from from the west with temps in the low 30's.

Snowpack

North through east facing terrain is still holding cold snow near treeline. Southeast facing slopes became wet by afternoon. Small grained surface hoar was found in many places sheltered from sun and wind. A test-pit on a steep north facing slope near treeline produced hard results in a extended column test (ECTP30). This failed on large grained facets buried in the end of February. See photo below.

Avalanche

Several natural wind slabs could be seen just under ridge tops along Highlands Ridge. These most likely released in the last 48hrs.
