Snowpack
Travels ranged from 10,400ft to ~11,800ft on east, northeast and southeast facing terrain. Cracking and collapsing are easing off a skosh, however a lot of terrain still warrants concern as small features tested with a slope angle pushing 40 degrees are still providing obvious signs of instability. I focused on a southeast-facing slope for a pit to check on that structure for my first time of the season and found generally unremarkable snowpack test scores. However the interface between last weeks storm and the surprise 5" earlier this week could still be an issue for triggered releases where thick wind-deposits lurk. The warmup forecast for Friday will probably change this upper snowpack setup but we'll see if the winds kick back in and remain a factor for instability on this aspect at upper elevations in the near-term.
