Headed up Vermillion Fire Break after watching the snow pour off Mount Whymper for a while in the morning. Snow was blowing from SW and onto S face/Avy Paths into Chickadee Valley, Gut said look for something lower key. Glad we did, halfway up the Fire Break we saw recent slides on Boom avy paths and read a trip report this morning that it was very upside down on Friday afternoon and too sketchy to ski. Fire break was busy which made for a good skin track in, fresh pow was up to 600 mm deep on side of break and made for some big smiles after some juicy turns. Still some lurkers just under the surface, hear a few rocks and caught a few smaller stumps waiting to trip you up.
