Went for a run on mellow slopes behind Green Cabin @ Nadahini. Snow conditions pretty poor but nice to see some sun. Strong N winds made for plenty of snow transport/blowing snow (significant drifts on highway especially close to Three Guardsmen area) and very cold conditions. Snowpack approx 1-1.5m, surface heavily wind affected. Above willow line = smooth wind crust patches interspersed with hard corrugated-like snow drifts (early season quads definitely feeling it). Remotely triggered small (wind) slab avalanche on way up (size 1-1.5).
