With the Pass closed, it was a sled day in the Wheaton today. We saw evidence of recent natural avalanche activity in the alpine including a cornice failure triggered sz 2 (east aspect) and natural windslab activity in the alpine. We also observed recent dry loose activity on solar aspects. We did not see any new avalanche activity occurring today. An inversion today with -18c in the parking lot and -8c in the alpine. Clear sky in the morning with weather rolling in from the south during the afternoon. An average of 110cm - 140cm of snow at 1600m The whoops up to tally ho are reaching rodeo like levels! There’s still great riding in the meadows and low angle alpine features hidden from the wind.
