Sunny and ~10F. Strong wind from the W and SW. Visited All aspects but West.

Snowpack

Overnight new snow 4”-6”. Solar aspects have hard bed surface. Northerly has a softer bed surface. ‘Protected’ trees also loaded and start zones holding isolated wind slabs. Not just on ridge lines. Slabs were varying thickness and hardness

Avalanche

Sensitive wind slabs in areas prone to loading. 4”-16” in depth. Slabs found on N/NE/E aspects at tree line. Suspected also in SE and S. Also wind slab pockets pulling out in more protected areas in the trees.
