Snowpack
2-4" windslab sitting in Box Creek Couloirs on top of consolidated snow. Planned to ski this but retreated after seeing the stability issues. Snow sounded hollow. You could pick up the crust and it would hold together about the size of a dinner plate. Throwing one of these chunks downhill, it stayed intact and rolled all the way to the bottom of the couloirs. We were expecting this to be safe to ski but after evaluating in person we erred on the side of caution and descended back down the safer east ridge route.
