Clear and calm, cold air temps. Beautiful day in the mountains.

Snowpack

No obvious signs of instability. N facing terrain was still soft and skiing well. E/SE facing was much thinner overall but still soft as well. Coverage has vastly improved compared to a week and half ago (still November though...). Exposed S and W aspects had a melt freeze crust that just started softening a bit when I skied out around 1230. A snow pit was dug on an ESE aspect at 11,500'. An ECT was performed which resulted in propagation, failing on the basal facets.
