Weather

Clear skies, cold temps, and light NE winds at treeline. 4.5" new snow with 0.2" of water content measured this morning at the CAIC Snow Study Plot. Only 5" of snowfall so far this month.

Snowpack

Near and above treeline, recent strong NE winds have caused significant scouring, drifting, and wind packed surface conditions that can be very hard to get an edge into in places. Widespread melt freeze crusts are found on sunny aspects. Both of these old snow surface conditions were masked by this morning's new snow.

Avalanche

Harmless dry loose avalanche activity was widespread.
