two skiers stopped at top of convex roll to survey terrain. first skier descended down to the skiers right, scraping a rock and triggering the first slide. skier skid uninjured out of the slide and down to the bottom. second skier descended directly down the face of the roll and scraped a rock which triggered a second slab release down to rocks causing the skier to loose balance, eject from skis, and cartwheel down a rocky face stopping 100 feet below. skier suffered penetrating injuries to abdomen and upper thigh as well as a pelvic fracture. sar was contacted via in reach and injured skier was flown out for treatment.
