Snowpack

Moderate wind transport near treeline. South to southeast to east aspects had melt-freeze crusts in the upper snowpack--crusts were more stout on south and weaker but still present on east and not observed on northeast. I did not find any buried surface hoar in the upper snowpack, but there was a facet layer about 35cm below the surface. Currently we are still lacking enough of a slab for this upper weak layer to be problematic, but winds today and over the next couple of days may change this.
