Weather

Mostly clear in the more. Cloud build-up in the afternoon with broken skies. Some wind but no wind loading. Winter-like air temperatures (woohoo!) but strong March sun still moistened new snow.

Avalanche

There was a decent avalanche cycle in this area. I would call it a minor cycle compared to others I have seen here. The recent winds filled in some crowns so it could have been more extensive than thought, Most avalanches were northeast and east-facing slopes. I noticed one large avalanche on a west-facing slope in the South Fork of Lake Creek and the avalanche in Star D path was on due north and that broke near the ground. Avalanches coded in this observation are from near Graham Gulch, South Fork of Lake Creek, and Hayden Gulch. ---Avalanche on French Mountain here -https://avalanche.state.co.us/observations/field-report/c972ca34-b622-4d22-866d-82ac3fb7502a ---Avalanches in Monitor Gulch here https://avalanche.state.co.us/observations/field-report/3a34ebc5-4353-42e6-87de-35afd3069058 ---Avalanches in Star Mountains coded in a different system.
