Snowpack

I traveled preominantly on east aspects near and slightly above treeline. The snowpack is still shallow, and depth varied from around 25cm where today's snow fell on bare ground to around a meter where older snow still existed prior to today's storm. I dug on an east aspect just above treeline and found right-side up storm snow that appeared to be bonding well to the old snow surface. No signs of instability were observed during my travels, and there was little indication of a storm slab problem. Winds were starting to move snow around, and there was evidence of some fresh drifting around terrain features above treeline.
