Snowpack
The snow from our big early September storm and a smaller mid-October storm had mostly melted prior to this most recent storm. A few high, northerly gullies above 13k feet held onto a little September snow but not much. The latest storm snow has settled to about 5 inches. Surface hoar has formed on the surface. Below that the rest of the snowpack is faceting quickly. Although the coverage is thin, the 5 inches is spread evenly across all aspects as the last storm had little wind. Westerly-facing slopes are abnormally white for the Sawatch. Southerly-facing slopes are melted out or will be melted out. There won't be any old snow on southerly slopes, except for maybe the highest elevations, by the next storm.
