Test Failure Layer Crystal Types
surfaceHoar, crust

Tested on 40 degree slope. Noted layers at 5cm, 30cm, and 70cm down. Thin melt-freeze crust on surface due to warm temperatures the previous night . Thin layer at 5cm deep was possible surface hoar, broke off immediately. Thin layer at 30cm deep was possible surface hoar but fairly resistant. 1cm thick at 70cm deep was crust from early December I believe. Compression tests summary: CTM11 failure at 30cm deep, settling and lots of resistance, not planar.
