Spent 2 nights at the Peyto Hut. Route in from Peyto Lake needs more snow. Skis off in a few places to pass rocky sections with minimal snow cover (particularly thin from the top of the moraines to the weather station). Good firm travel on the glaciers. Skied/climbed Mount Habel one day. We dug a small pit at 2300 meters. 15 cm of storm snow sitting on a solid base. We didn’t see any signs of facets or avalanches in the Habel area. Crusty, wind blown skiing back to the Peyto Hut. Skied out to Bow Lake on our third day. Fast travel on glaciers. Quite rocky skiing down below Bow Hut, with only 50 cm of coverage on the traverse to the canyon. Canyon in great shape with a well packed trail. Sunny weather with temps around minus 10 for all three days.
