We dug on a east aspect at 11,000’ off the Mt Justice ridge. Height of snow is 260 cm. Most of the snow pack is 1 finger to pencil hardness. Height of snow is 260cm. There are 4 layers in the top 100cm. They are at 220cm, 185cm, 180cm, and 170cm. The 170cm layer is my layer of concern made up of .5-1mm facets and was the layer where tests results failed. Did two CT test with one failing at 180 cm and the other at 170 cm. Both of these were on 18 taps with a clean break across the block. ECT test took a little more with both test failing on 34 taps propagating across the block on the 170cm layer. Below the 170cm layer is just hard.
