No sun Sinclair

Today we checked out the Sinclair snowmobile area. In the trees this area has one of the deepest snowpacks in the NW inland that we've seen so far this year. But in the alpine there were still many sections that have been scoured down to ground. Snowpack tests revealed a layer of surface hoar down 15cm and the Dec 23 facet/ surface hoar layer down 30- 40cm. We saw a few recent dry loose avalanches out of steep terrain
