Periods of broken skies allowed for brief moments of sunshine. Otherwise snowy and windy condition specifically on ridgelines and exposed slopes.
Snowpack
Sensitive Storm Slabs were observed in any loaded pocket. The new snow was sitting on a firm refrozen surface and wasn't bonding on steep slopes. Avalanches were easily triggered in the new snow, broke as slabs, and gained speed as they traveled downhill. Avalanche triggered were relatively small, but would be dangerous above terrain traps or in areas were taking a ride has significant consequence. Guessing things will mend quickly, but we will need a calm clear day for that to take place.
