strong ridge top winds with lots of windloading but light/moderate below treeline. T were moderate, seasonable. No signs of recent precip due to extensive winds; it couldn't have been more than an inch or two.
Snowpack
Spx/Avx - in the areas traveled, we observed the by now well known
basal DH overlaid by 1-2ft of sloft slab; the near-ground melt or rain
crust has faceted extensively. We dug hand pits on several locations
on NE'erly near-treeline and at treeline and found this to be the
common theme. No shooting cracks, collapses, fresh/recent avy observed
