Snowpack
Snow was very faceted and sugary on protected east-facing slopes, but more crusted on southern- and west-facing slopes. Snow would slough and run down steep slopes with ski cuts, but no avalanche activity was observed.
Avalanche
We did notice one either natural or animal-triggered avalanche below the road leading up to Splain's Gulch. The crown appeared to be a foot or 2 deep. We viewed this from across the valley.
