Weather
eautiful Sunny day with cool temps. NW winds were blowing and swirling snow ATL but with little transport.
Snowpack
Last nights 1" of snow went a long way today. Shallow Wind Slabs 3-4" deep could be found on lee features and were up to 8" deep in isolated areas. Tests showed resistant planar shears between these new slabs and old faceted snow or crusts. On steep East and South East slopes these Wind Slabs were unreactive to skiers. In other areas with recent but shallow cornicing we were able to get some cracking in the new snow.
Avalanche
1 slough in steep terrain that ran fairly far on the slick bed surfaces.
