Snowpack

We dug a pit below treeline on a NE aspect. Soft new snow for 13" on top of a finger hardness 2" slab. Weak layer of facets below the slab, then ~12" of consolidated (4 finger) snow below. Found alternating crusts and facets below, becoming more consolidated near the ground.
