9 backcountry enthusiasts headed out for an unorganized day of backcountry skills refreshing. Companion rescue and multiple burial scenarios, along with practicing probing and shovelling techniques. Some snow study to identity layers and perform snow stability tests. Only skiing involved for this group was the skin track so can’t comment on anything above 2100m. Snow had some moisture in it with temperatures around -3 and light flurries during the day but the descent skied really well! Great to have a crew that is stoked to refresh some skills!

Weather

Flurries throughout day with about 1mm Precip particles.

Snowpack

HS 72 with the layers previously noted in other recent reports and the avalanche bulletin. Noted depth hoar forming up to 2mm. CTE (7) down 45 SP on 1mm FC CTM (16) down 45 SP on 1mm FC
