We had Hermit to ourselves yesterday. Early start, horrendous walking to tree line. Higher up it was hard to tell the rain runnels from what’s left of the skin track, so it was a bit of a choose your own adventure at times. Above the campground conditions improved tremendously. We bailed on our plan to attempt the Rogers face due to how long it took to get up there. Instead, we skied off Tupper Ridge and found 10-15cm of powder snow with pockets of slight wind effect. Snow became corn at 2200m and was starting to slush out below 1800m by 12:30pm. Lower Hermit path has a lot of debris in it. Thankfully some fresher snow coats everything which made things more manageable. The main choke was quite lean but we were able to exit fine enough.
