Hollyburn/cypress tour

3-4cm of new snow from the last 2 days on supportive crust that was firm in the trees, soft-ish in areas without overhanging foliage. Pinwheeling of the top few cms was seen on all steep slopes. Otherwise nothing moving. Lots of old avalanche debris observed at the bottom of Christmas Gully and in the west facing gullies lower on Mt Strachan.
