Cirque peak trees

Went up the observation sub peak/cirque sub peak drainage with no real idea which runs we wanted to ski. When we got out of the trees we realized the sunny aspects where fairly crusty and not the best skiing. We skinned up to below some of the N facing chutes on cirque sub peak but didn’t feel great about the wind effect and cornices in the area. We finally settled on lapping a short run in the trees on the shoulder of cirque sub peak. The snow there was low density and blower great riding conditions and no instabilities noted here. We saw a point release on a S ish aspect and some big cornice failures on the same aspect across the way on observation sub peak.
