We took a quick ride up to Fraser Lake area today. The new snow (40cm) was moist all the way up to the lake (1200m) The poor visibility kept us from getting any higher into the alpine. The winds were light with moderate gusts, but I would expect them to be stronger at ridge crest. We did notice a size 1 wind slab avalanche that pulled out of a north aspect just off of Fraser peak. It only ran in the upper storm snow. We were pretty cautious of travelling into bigger alpine slopes and avoided exposing ourselves to overhead hazards. I would suggest starting off in mellower terrain and working your party into more committing terrain only if you are feeling confident with your snowpack stability observations.
