AST2 with Kootenay Backcountry guides up to Lyle lakes. Made our way up to Lyle lakes after some alder bashing from 1450m-1600m with warm temps near 0 for the entire climb dipping to -0.7 at Lyle lakes. Dug two profiles on north facing aspects at the lakes at 2020m, profile details on snowpack summary. Skied back down the avalanche path with the snow getting wetter and heavier as we descended to the alders before bashing our way through and back on home. There was also some pinwheeling off of steep rocky terrain.
