Snowpack
We dug a quick pit for the fun of it. Pit was a dug on a 30 degree, east facing slope at 11640'. Snow depth was 80cm. 15cm fist hard slab, a distinct weak layer 3 cm thick, 10cm cohesive section very soft, facets with no support to the ground. We performed 2 ECT as we ended up on a rock in one corner. The clean pit failed on 12 taps, it failed on the upper weak layer and stepped down into facets. Second test with the rock my partner got a bit zealous out kind of skipped the wrist taps and it failed on the first tap from the elbow. While filing in the pit we had the face collapse but no movement of the snow since the face is generally under 30 degrees.
