Snowpack
Dug 2 pits with similar results, within 50 meters of each other at 10,720', East aspect, on a 22 degree slope. The structure overall was poor, with much of the mid-and lower snowpack consisting of facets and depth hoar resting below a 1F layer of wind-packed grains. The mid-snowpack slab did not have much strength to it, and thus boot-pen was waist deep (74cms) throughout much of the area. See snow profile for test results and layer details.
