Snowpack
Pit was located approximately 40.5160557, -105.8987550 Approximately 10,900 feet in elevation - in tree line Pit was on an east aspect, 20 degree slope Pit was dug at approximately 1340 hours. Since this wind storm has started a lot of snow has moved. Many bare spots that were once covered in snow can be seen. There was 110 Cm of snow. From top down. 110 to 107 was fist strength. From 107 to 105 was finger. From 105 to 85 was fist strength again. From 85 to 60 was finger. From 60 to 40 was 4 finger and 40 to ground was 1 finger.
Avalanche
Looking up at South Diamond there was a small avalanche that had occurred before my arrival in the Gash. It started about halfway down the run. Not obvious signs of human triggers nearby. Parts of the hill on lookers left also slid. Slide path was about 200 feet long and widened as it traveled downhill. I have attached a photo but photo quality is poor - sorry
