Weather

Sky condition had few clouds, no precip except for some blowing snow off the mountain. Winds light out of the west with moderate gusts here and there. Temp was around 34 degrees F.

Snowpack

Lat/Long - N 40.495334, W 105.885014 10,863 ft elevation. Pit had an east aspect Pit Description There was a total of 97 cm of snow in the pit. Top down to 65 cm was fist. This layer was mostly fluff. Grains were mostly stellars and dendrites. From 65 cm to about 60 cm was pencil. From 60 cm to 45 cm was 4 fingers. From 45 cm to 42 cm was knife. From 42 cm to 0 cm was 4 finger. Grains at this level were faceted and rounded. Compression Test The top 5 to 6 inches collapsed immediately under the shovel but I didn't get a real collapse until CTM 4x at 65 cm. Fracture was resistant planar.
