Southeast face below summit of soda mountain ~10,550' Surface had slight sun crust forming on microaspects but mostly still in good condition late morning. Dug pit on 30* bulge near top of face likely holding more snow than adjacent areas where rock outcroppings were observed penetrating surface. HS 125cm Shovel shear indicated reactive layers at 95cm, 85cm and 25cm from ground. Upper 2 layers clean q1 shears on likely light sun crusts. CT12: broke at 25cm layer near-ground sitting on depth hoar. Upper layers which seemed to be more reactive did not fail before the column failed near ground Q2R1
