Weather
Cold! Single digits everywhere. Calm BTL in the timber, 10-15mph NTL but massive winds ATL across the valley on Bear and Sultan. Otherwise a beautiful day!
Snowpack
Super sensitive and weak everywhere, with widespread cracking and collapsing, propagating at least 50ft on the aspects and near and below treeline we traveled on. On NE aspects BTL there was a ~30-40cm slab made of the settled new snow, F hard, with failures on the new-old interface and sliding on the facets. Despite it all being F hard, the slab was noticeably denser while skiing.
Avalanche
While ski cutting across small E aspect BTL I released a small SS avalanche.
