Dug 3 pits on the same slope. Of the 3 compression tests only one was minimally reactive at around 27 taps. Other 2 pits did not react at all. Top 30cm of soft snow compressed down but the column stayed completely intact. Snow in the trees was loose and soft with some areas of hard crust below. At tree line there was wind effect and a slight sun crust on the surface.
