Quick report
- Riding Quality
- good
We skied the south aspect of a summit to the north of Nadahini Mountain (windward side). Widespread supportive crust was noted on ascent, ski penetration only about 5 cm in most places. No signs of recent avalanche activity, but we observed some old cornice falls on north and east aspects. Dug a pit on the south aspect at ~1800m elevation, snow depth 120 cm. Top 10 cm of wind-compacted snow released easily (during column cutting) on crust. Another thick rain crust was present about 30 cm down, with a consolidated mid-pack below. We got a CTH4 (sudden collapse) on depth hoar. Ski quality was decent in less wind-affected areas. The day was sunny with no wind, almost t-shirt weather at the summit!
